DYING AWKWARD ANGEL: pubblicano il nuovo album ''The Missing Frame''

Gli italiani Dying Awkward Angel tornano oggi, 22 agosto 2025, con il lavoro più intenso e senza compromessi della loro carriera: il nuovo full-length “The Missing Frame” pubblicato da Rockshots Records.

Nati nel 1998 all’interno della scena underground metal torinese per volontà del chitarrista e principale compositore Edoardo Demuro, i Dying Awkward Angel hanno forgiato il proprio stile partendo dal melodeath di scuola di Göteborg (In Flames, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity) e dalla furia del thrash e death metal americano, arricchendo il tutto con un’impronta molto personale e riconoscibile. Nel corso degli anni hanno condiviso il palco con realtà come Decapitated, Impaled Nazarene, Necronomicon, Forgotten Tomb, Node e molti altri, costruendo una solida reputazione per l’impatto viscerale e l’energia dei loro live show.

“The Missing Frame” segue l’acclamato “Absence Of Light” (2018) ed è stato anticipato dai singoli “Music Kills” e “9.99”. Composto in un periodo di rinnovata creatività, il disco si presenta più veloce, pesante e diretto ed è il risultato di quella che la band definisce “una brutale e sincera collaborazione tra tutti noi”.

Dal punto di vista lirico, l’album affronta i temi della dualità – bene e male, istinto e controllo, realtà e illusione – traendo spesso ispirazione da esperienze personali, storie e incubi dei membri della band. Brani come “9.99” mettono in discussione il valore della vita umana mentre “Music Kills” esplora il potere ambivalente della musica stessa.

Musicalmente, il disco unisce la precisione del melodic death metal svedese alla crudezza del metal americano con un approccio produttivo moderno e diretto. «Non aspettatevi quello che vi aspettate. Aspettatevi ciò che non vi aspettate» avvertono i Dying Awkward Angel.

Registrato ai Bottleneck Studios di Torino e prodotto dalla band stessa, “The Missing Frame” resta fedele alle radici del gruppo spingendo i confini del loro suono più lontano che mai.

ABOUT:
Dying Awkward Angel is an Italian melodic death metal band formed in 1998 by guitarist Edoardo Demuro and drummer Ivan Longo. Influenced by the ferocity and melody of the ‘90s extreme metal scene—drawing from the Gothenburg sound as well as UK and US death and thrash metal—the band quickly developed a distinctive style that blends raw aggression, dark atmospheres and introspective lyricism.
After two well-received demos (Dying Awkward Angel, 2002 and Ghost at the Spine, 2004), the band released their first full-length "Waiting for Punishment" in 2013 followed by the EP "Madness Rising" (2015), showcasing a more mature and dynamic approach to songwriting. In 2018, Dying Awkward Angel released "Absence of Light" through Rockshots Records / Extreme Metal Music, gaining praise from international press and expanding their reach across Europe, the USA and Japan.
Having shared the stage with acts like Decapitated, Impaled Nazarene, Necronomicon, Forgotten Tomb, Kenos and Node, the band is known for delivering uncompromising live performances and intense musicality.
In 2024 and 2025, the singles "The Magical World of the Dead", "Music Kills" and "9.99" marked the band’s powerful return, leading up to the release of their new album "The Missing Frame", due out on August 22nd, 2025 via Rockshots Records. This new chapter reflects a more focused and violent sonic identity—one that remains faithful to the Swedish melodeath tradition while embracing a darker, more deliberate production.
